Thanks for visiting the Marathon Leadership®, LLC web site. Let me briefly introduce myself and my leadership philosophy – and if you like what you read, please take a look at the services I offer.
I’ll begin by addressing two questions people often ask me:
These are legitimate questions, ones I hadn’t thought of until early 2006. In fact, for years my consulting company was called “Clear Ideas Consulting.” My signature leadership class was entitled The 21st-Century Leader, because I believed that the new century (and millennium) required a new approach to leadership – one grounded in self awareness, adaptability, and shared power.
And I still believe that wholeheartedly.
But as I began training for my 50th marathon (Oklahoma City’s “A Run to Remember Memorial Marathon,” which I completed on April 30, 2006) I realized that my avocation – marathon running – had a lot in common with my vocation: leadership training and coaching.
So I decided to help 21st-Century leaders become better by drawing on the lessons I’ve learned training for and competing in an ancient sport: the marathon. To do so, I not only re-branded my company as Marathon Leadership®, LLC – I also created a new leadership training based on The 26.2 Lessons for Modern Leaders (one for each mile of a full marathon).
Sound intriguing? If so, please take a look at the rest of the site and contact me if you have any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you. And if you give me the honor of working with you and your organization, I promise you won’t be disappointed in Marathon Leadership®: “Leadership Training with Endurance.”
